someday...part 3

someday. someday i'll wake up to a quiet house and this parenting business will all be in the rear view mirror. for now, i just dream of someday.

someday part 1 and someday part 2

1. someday i'll be able to go the bathroom without returning to find this.

2. someday my laundry room won't look like this.

3. someday i won't find rocks in the washing machine.

4) someday i'll walk into the living room without finding mysterious spots on my sofa.

5) someday my kids will actually bring their shoes in from outside before a three day batch of rain.

6) someday i won't be forced to retrieve sippy cups thrown under adjacent cars.

7) someday my daughter will know that taking a pair of scissors and stabbing a brand new aerobed not once but twice might not be the best idea.

8) someday i will return from putting clean clothes away without finding a toddler playing in toilet water...all over the entryway.

9) someday my kids clothes won't appear with mysterious stains...all over them.

10) someday my son will eat a cookie without this happening on the one day i forgot to bring baby wipes.

someday...a girl can dream can't she? if you have pictures of your "somedays," send them our way. it's good to know we're not alone.

someday...the second installment

a few weeks ago, we started a new "someday" series. don't get us wrong...we love our lives, love our kids, love what we get to do each day. still, there are moments that if we do not document, one day we will mentally block from our memories. they will be the stuff of urban legends. our kids will never believe us.

so, here they are...numbers 11-20. some are ours, and some are sent in by some brave friends. do you have a great "someday"? if you do, send us a picture and your favorite "someday" moments. you'll want proof that your "someday" ever happened.

someday

11) someday, i won't have to say the words, "why are you holding your penis?

12) someday, i won't have homework at the start of each school year.

13) someday, i won't walk into the bathroom to find this...on top of the toilet. i'm assuming it was there because someone had to pee in the shower but didn't want to get out to do it. good thing there was a bucket nearby.

14) someday i won't have to boil my own bathwater so that i can shave my legs because my children used up all the hot water.

15) someday, i won't walk into my bedroom to find that strawberry lemonade has been spilled all over my white sheets. awesome.

16) someday, strange alien illnesses won't appear during naptime. what is up with that eye?

17) someday, my kitchen floor will stay clean for more than five minutes.

18) someday, i will be able to fold a load of laundry without worrying where he will go next.

19) someday my children will flush the toilet.
20) someday, my toddler won't find playing in unflushed toilets to be such a fun pastime.

someday...

send us your "someday" pictures at thethirdboob@gmail.com. we can't wait to share these moments with you.

someday...

there are many moments during the day when i have to take a deep breath and regain my sanity. it is in those moments that i speak a mantra over myself: "someday, things will be different." it's in those moments that i remember that these days are fleeting. this too shall pass. while all the moments aren't wonderful, someday i'll miss them. in the meantime, it's good to remember that someday, things will change.

so, we are starting a new tradition here at the third boob. we are going to start collecting a list of all our "somedays." we'd love to share some of yours as well. if you have a "someday" you'd like to share, please email it to us as thethirdboob@gmail.com. it's good to know we are not alone in this process. perhaps more important than that, it's good to laugh at it all and remember that someday, life as we now know it will be a memory.

on that happy note, here is our first list of 10 somedays. (these are all true stories, by the way. between chach and i, the material for this new series is endless...)

someday...

1) someday i will be able to use the bathroom without little people sticking their fingers under the door, or pounding on the door, or asking me if i need help wiping.

2) someday i will be able to wear a skirt in public without one of my sons lifting it and giving all the passers by a free peep show.

3) someday i'll be able to take a shower without one of the boys asking "why do you have fur down there?" seriously...fur.

4) someday i will be able to eat an entire meal without getting up from the table.

5) someday i'll eat a hot meal.

6) someday i'll be able to make it through a meal without someone announcing, "i tooted," followed by a fit of tablewide giggles.

7) someday i won't have to dodge and deflect questions about tampons.

8) someday tampons won't be used as missiles or torpedoes to shoot across the bathroom.

9) someday i won't have to remind my boys to "aim for the water."

10) someday, my boys won't inform me that they have peed on the wall on accident... but that it's okay because i can clean it up.
